I have had a pretty good week on both DJ & Design fronts on Wednesday I attended Hull's first digital conference Hull Digital Live. This was my first conference and on the whole it was very interesting. The line up of speakers included

Rory Cellan-Jones, Charles Arthur, Anand Verma, Jaan Orvet, Kai Gait, Mark Rock, Mike Butcher, Rob Palmer, Stuart McFarlane.

I particularly enjoyed the talk by Jaan Orvet as it gave a different view on the industry and it made me realise that you do not have to work for a big company to land big projects.

On the DJ side of things this week I worked at The Sugarmill in hull on Thursday this was one of only two nightclubs in my home town that I had never had the opportunity to play at. I thoroughly enjoyed my night there and I hope to be back there soon.

I wonder what next week will bring?

Hi my name is Phillip Shakesby, I am 30 year's old and I am writing this blog to log my journey entering the interactive media industry.

I am what may be described by some as a creative person, I have expressed my creativity working as a DJ since the age of fourteen and I have been interested in digital design since the age of sixteen.

In this blog I will discuss my past and current influences and I will highlight the highs and lows of my creative life.

More to come soon!
